Decision made. I renewed my blog domain talkkindnesstome.com.
Another year of blogging behind me and another year ahead.

I can’t get seem to get this verse out of my head. I’m pretty sure that means I’m supposed to share it.

Jeremiah 32:17
Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.

If you are close to Grand Rapids, MI – 5:30 pm May 20

I personally feel that the best way to stay positive in a negative world is to surround myself with positive people. I know a positive person when I see one. I’m looking forward to seeing and listening to the person who wrote these words in his latest book: I’m still trying in my lifetime role as cheerleader and encourager to have a positive influence on my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are the future and as an eternal optimist, I believe that today’s young people have the capacity to build a successful future, but they need guidance from those who have succeeded in the past. ….

What is popular is not always right, and what is right is not always popular. I’ve tried to do right regardless of critics, changing lifestyles, political party, of those who have influence in society at a given time. I’ve never been able to argue against wisdom of having an upward look, being persistent, believing in America and free enterprise, a Christian faith, loving family, being accountable to myself and others and recognizing the dignity in each person. …..

Two phrases that have been keys to my success; “Be a Life Enricher” and “You can do it!” I’m telling you – You Can Do It – you can attend the author talk too.  5:30 pm Baker Books on East Paris. I’m sure I will be surrounded by positive people.

Shine your light

One of my first ever blog posts. So how is your day going so far?  Mine – not so great. Already I have lost a complete facebook message – typed without spelling errors I might add.  (But I can’t prove it, of course.) So what’s up with you today? I have been contemplating our missionary speaker’s message on Sunday.  I have always heard the analogy of lighting a candle in a dark world, but I had never considered the point he made about how much brighter a candle burns and how much light it produces when the room is dark.  The flame itself doesn’t burn brighter, but in a dark room it appears to bring more light. That’s my prayer for all of us. This world can be so incredibly dark. We can be surrounded by painful circumstances – bullies can bring us pain – we can have frienemies who are supposed to be our friends but they drag us down. Pretty easy sometimes to let our flame smolder – on its way to going out. Don’t let that happen.  Run, don’t walk, to your nearest real friend for an infusion of hope and confidence, and light. And if you’re the one with the flame burning bright – shine it and be the light where there is darkness. Let’s feed our hearts confidence, comfort, peace, and love so that’s what is consistently regenerating. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc8y0DL8Hr4

What’s inside becomes what’s outside . . .

YAY for Monday! I always let myself sleep an extra hour on Monday sort of a way to ease back into the work week maybe? I woke up this morning thinking Bible Study – so there is my thankful theme for today. I am thankful for the Bible Study in Daniel that our Women’s Refining Graces Ministries is doing. When I was a little kid and sang the song Dare to be a Daniel, I never realized what it really meant. I love the words integrity, faith, wisdom, and discernment. I believe that if you get the inside right, the rest will take care of itself, going beyond the ‘beauty is skin deep’. My prayer today is that if anyone is struggling at all today, we look inward and find everything good, focus on that until that is the strongest motivator for getting it right.  If you get the inside right, the rest will take care of itself.

The weekend didn’t go as planned and I hope that didn’t mean huge disappointments for you. In fact, I hope it turned out even better because of the rain. I feel bad for those without power and I prayed that it would all be restored by this morning.  On Saturday, I made a big long list of things I wanted to accomplish and last night as I was throwing my list away I realized AMAZED actually that I got everything done. That never happens, never. Prayer changes things.  Now there are many things that didn’t end up on THE LIST but those just don’t count. YAY! on to today. Remember: Nothing is better than this day. (repeat)

No matter what – God is there!

OK everybody up! Rise and shine! Good Morning ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ 2 You ¸•♫¸.•.¸¸♥¸*♫ Oh YAY!  WE made it to Friday! What cool things will you do today? At work, at home, at play – well, maybe not play exactly.  Not yet anyway. First we have to get up, get motivated, get the armor on, get COFFEE, and get out there.  Up Up UP – we can do this. I think I found the solution to having too many things on my to-do list. Shorter paper. Shall we try that? Let me know how it works for you. If it works I’ll be ordering a crate of 3X5 cards. Let’s just remember above all, at the top of the list, at the beginning of the day, write it on your heart to put God first. It’s not easy to get into the habit of prioritizing around the One whose power we rely on just to get through the day, through the week, through everything. God, Family, Work – it should be in that order.  How mixed up we become when we walk through the maze. The amazing maze – we don’t walk it alone. Somehow I stumbled, and that’s the right word for it stumbled across this verse in Joshua 23:14  “Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed. Good reminder for whatever happens today – no matter what, no matter where, God has promised to be there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaj6P_7bpGw&feature=endscreen&NR=1

When do we not need the arms of God around us?

OK everybody up! Rise and shine! Good Morning ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ 2 You ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥¸¸.•*¨*•♫Is this going to be a great day?  YES! How do I know that?  Because God made it and I’ve decided to make it a good one. I saw my sister on Sunday and she is doing really well (even though she has to live in that protective clam shell) but she looks good, we talked for 2 hours partlly inside the house and partly outside in the sun.  It was a wonderful afternoon.  My brother-in-law, Gary is not having the valve replaced in his heart afterall.  I’m not sure what the cardiologist specialists are looking for but they are doing tests to determine what really is wrong but they suspect it’s better than the initial prognosis.  So – is this a great day? I am praying though for a friend whose mom passed away and another friend whose step brother passed away – there are never times when we don’t need the arms of God to surround us, keep us safe, give us peace, bless us with His surrounding love. These are my prayers for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CSVqHcdhXQ
